Baseball's Back

by Trey Fraser

So for some reason, after I made mention of the 2019 MLB season starting this Thursday on our previous podcast episode, my co-host and brother of 17 years, Maestro Styles, kept reiterating for me to do a baseball blog, really, like 5-6 times he said it to me, and then again shouted me out on IG Snap to do a baseball blog (see below)

Keep in mind, Maestro “pretends” to show interest in the sport. So because I’m behind on some blogs, I said aight. I’m sitting here in the orthodontist office in the lobby while my wife has her wisdom teeth pulled and I’ve taken some work home from work, I gotta little down time, why not do a blog?  Here’s my thoughts on the upcoming 2019 MLB season: 1) Future HOFers reaching milestones: Albert Pujols could reach 2,000 RBI. Only two guys in the history of the sport have done that. Both CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander could get 3,000 Ks. They’d be the 17th and 18th players to do that. Miguel Cabrera can get to the 500-home run club. 2) I gotta get to a game or two this season: Listen, as much of a baseball fan as i am, I don’t like watching it on TV throughout the regular season. And it’s been a few years since I’ve attended a baseball game. It’s time for me to harass one of my coworkers for tickets and get down to a Yankees game when they come to BMore a few times!

3) This is the Yankees’ year: Yes damn it I said it! I’m ready for another championship parade. It’s been 10 years since the last one, and I’m getting a lil impatient, given the talent we have on the roster right now. Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Torres, Tanaka, Betances. It’s time to put up or shut up. Red Sox look a lil shaky and the rest of the division is suspect. The roster is great enough for a division title, an AL pennant, and a World Series chip! Let’s get it done!
